Celebrating 6 Years of Grassroots Climate Action

This year marks a significant milestone in our journey as Eco Clean Active Initiative turns six!

Six years of empowering communities, amplifying young voices, and driving climate action from the grassroots to the global stage.

From our humble beginnings in Modibbo Adama University of Technology, Yola, Adamawa State, now Modibbo Adama University, Yola, Eco Clean Active Initiative was born out of a shared vision to build cleaner, greener, and more resilient communities across Nigeria. What began as a small group of passionate young volunteers has evolved into a thriving environmental movement, championing climate education, adaptation, and community resilience.

Our Journey So Far

Over the past six years, we have:

- Mobilized thousands of youth and community members through climate education and environmental outreach programs.

- Planted trees and led clean-up drives to restore degraded lands and promote sustainable waste management.

- Engaged policymakers and CSOs in dialogues that put community resilience and climate justice at the center of action.

- Represented Nigeria in regional and international platforms, from the UN Climate Conferences to environmental learning summits across Africa.

Each project, partnership, and campaign reflects our core belief: climate action begins at the local level.

6th Anniversary Celebration

The 6th Anniversary, held on September 20, 2025, at the Eco Clean Hub Center in Sangere, Girei LGA, was a day of reflection, recognition, and renewed commitment.

Distinguished guests, community leaders, partners, and supporters joined us to celebrate our impact and reaffirm the shared mission of creating sustainable change.

Highlights of the event included:

- A Goodwill message from our esteemed guests, from international level (UK, Europe & Africa), University (Staff and Students), Secondary School (Staff and Students), grassroots community (leaders and members), NYSC and the immediate community of our Hub location.

- Inspiring reflections from our volunteers, sharing their stories of transformation through Eco Clean’s community programs.

- Presentation of certificates of appreciation to our partners and supporters for their unwavering collaboration.

- Formal launch of the Eco Clean Hub.

Our Commitment Ahead

As we step into a new year, our commitment remains clear; To strengthen grassroots climate leadership, scale local adaptation initiatives, and amplify youth voices in environmental governance.
